Welcome to Lourdes 2026!

His Grace, Archbishop Bernard Longley, shares a welcome message to pilgrims and those following back home.

Each year, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes presents a theme which is a basic pastoral and planning framework for pilgrimage organisers and leaders, providing ideas for the organisation of pilgrimages and events in the sanctuary during the year.

The theme for 2026 is "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee."

The Lourdes Sanctuary has shared the themes for the next three years as we journey with Mary.

Lourdes 2026 - 2028
A three-year journey with Mary

Over the next three years, the Sanctuary of Lourdes is inviting us on a spiritual pilgrimage, a journey to the heart of the Virgin Mary’s story. We’ll go step by step, guided by the Gospel of Luke.

Our journey, our hope

2026: the Annunciation
“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you” (Lk. 1:28)
This is the year of the welcome, of listening and of the ‘yes’ that changed everything.

2027: the Visitation
“In those days Mary set out and went with haste…” (Lk. 1 :39)
This is the year of service, of joyful charity and of reaching out to others.

2028: the Magnificat
“His mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.” (Lk. 1:50)
This is the year of praise, of gratitude and of singing in acknowledgement of God’s wonders.
