Latest News Newman Cluster Celebrates Feast Day and Newman’s Forthcoming Proclamation as Doctor of the Church Parishioners from the Newman Cluster: Christ the King, Our Lady of the Assumption, Maryvale, and St Margaret Mary, came together on 9 October, the Feast of St John Henry Newman, to celebrate their annual Cluster Feast Day Mass at Maryvale. The Mass, offered in thanksgiving for the forthcoming proclamation of Newman as a Doctor of the Church, was celebrated by Fr Simon Ellis, who reflected in his homily on Newman’s deep faith, his connection to Maryvale, and his enduring influence on Catholics across the world. Fr Simon reminded those gathered that Newman described the presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament as “an incomprehensible blessing,” and he drew on Newman’s writings to inspire a renewed sense of unity and mission among the faithful.
