Latest News £9,000 funding appeal launched to support a Jubilee pilgrimage for people with disabilities News from The Kairos Forum Pope Francis has made a specific time to meet with people, from all over the world, who experience disability. The Kairos Forum and St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre, are proud to be facilitating a pilgrimage to Rome for people with a disability, their family, parishioners and carers in April 2025. Jubilee 2025: Living Fully with Value and Hope will offer accessible events, prayer, friendship and a morning with Pope Francis. Bishop Paul Hendricks, an auxiliary Bishop for Southwark Archdiocese, will be celebrating Mass each day of the pilgrimage. Pilgrims will visit the Holy Door and have the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. As well as the meeting with the Holy Father in St Peter’s Square, the pilgrimage will also see attendees participate in the official Jubilee events for people with disabilities on 28 and 29 April. Cristina Gangemi, Director of The Kairos Forum says: “We are seeking to bring diocesan groups from the UK, and other English-speaking countries together, to experience four days of faith-sharing, accessible prayer activities alongside the official Jubilee events. We need your help in raising the necessary funds and would be incredibly grateful if you could support us.” The Kairos Forum explores theology through the lens of disability and develops practical ways of ensuring that all people can participate in the life and mission of the Church. Pope Francis has asked that we grow as a community that values people with disabilities, so we are hoping to raise £9,000 to pay for the running costs and coach transfers to and from Rome, so as to provide subsidies for people with a disability. Cristina continued: “The Jubilee programme is vast but it won’t be complete without the participation of everyone. We dearly need your help so that those who are often overlooked are involved, let’s set a new precedent for the Jubilee.” You can find out more here or contact Cristina directly by emailing [email protected] Discover The Kairos Forum Manage Cookie Preferences
