Latest News Cardinal Marengo to visit Missio England & Wales Have you ever wondered what mission looks like in Mongolia, home to one of the youngest Catholic communities in the world? This February, you can come and find out. Apostolic Prefect of Ulaanbaatar, His Eminence Cardinal Giorgio Marengo, is a Consolata Missionary and the Church’s second youngest Cardinal. He will be visiting the UK at the beginning of February 2026 and will be joining Missio for a special public event in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. Cardinal Marengo will be visiting St Mary’s College, Oscott, Chester Road in Sutton Coldfield, to speak with Missio volunteers and supporters, as well as students and staff of the Seminary and the wider diocesan community. Fr Michael Glover is part of the formation team at the Seminary, as well as the Missio Diocesan Director of Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity for the Church in England & Wales to hear more about the missionary Church in Mongolia. The Cardinal will give a talk on Thursday 5 February at 2pm followed by a Q&A session and refreshments. All are very welcome from Missio volunteers and supporters to the wider parish communities.
