On Sunday 22 June 2025, Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ - Corpus Christi, the faithful from across Birmingham gathered for the annual Corpus Christi procession, beginning with Mass at St Michael’s Church on Moor Street.

Mass was celebrated by Bishop Timothy Menezes, with Canon Brian McGinley, Dean of St Chad’s Cathedral delivering a homily on the Eucharist.

Following the Mass, Bishop Timothy, Canon Brian and Fr Krysztof Kita joined more than 100 pilgrims as they took to the city streets for a procession of the Blessed Sacrament to St Chad’s Cathedral accompanied by hymns and prayer, and the scattering of flower petals.

At the Cathedral, participants joined for the final prayers and blessing in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

The procession was coordinated by the Polish community of St Michael’s in collaboration with the Cathedral, and the Knights of St Columba once again offered their support with marshalling and logistics.

Refreshments following the procession were provided by Natalia, Basia and Zyta from the Polish community, who prepared and set out a feast.
