Latest News Diocesan Union of Catholic Mothers hold AGM By Miriam Cunliffe The Archdiocese of Birmingham Union of Catholic Mothers held their annual AGM on Wednesday 2 April in the Grimshaw Room at St Chad's Cathedral. The meeting was chaired by the UCM's National President Elect Eileen Priest, who was standing in for the current Diocese President Pat Rogers, alongside treasurer Jane Barr and Miriam Cunliffe stepped in to cover the role of secretary to take the minutes. Discussions centred around supporting the Kenelm Youth Trust (KYT), the youth service of the Archdiocese, especially the Faith in Action awards, over the coming year. The AGM was followed by the group's annual Mass in St Chad's, led by Archbishop Bernard Longley, who also attended the meeting beforehand. In total there were 26 ladies from different foundations that make up the Archdiocese of Birmingham, along with representatives from the CWL, Catholic Women's League and CWA, Catholic Women's Association. His Grace said it was a helpful experience to hear about all being undertaken. Once Mass was finished we all returned to the Grimshaw Room for lunch and the raffle was drawn. A very enjoyable day for all those that attended. Photographs: His Grace talking to the ladies, and some of the ladies who were helping provide the teas and coffees.
