Latest News Evening Prayer and the Installation of Canon Brian McGinley as Dean of St Chad's Cathedral Canon Brian McGinley has been formally installed as Dean of St Chad's Cathedral, the Diocesan Mother Church. He was inducted by Canon Gary Buckby at Evening Prayer on Friday 29 November. The official welcome celebration was attended by members of Canon Brian's family, fellow clergy, parishioners of former parishes and his new family of St Chad's. The Rite of Induction consisted of a Letter of Appointment being read out by Canon Gary on behalf of Archbishop Bernard Longley, Oath of Fidelity and Formula of Induction. Musical accompaniment was provided by St Chad’s Cathedral Choir throughout the service, which was followed by refreshments in the Grimshaw Room. Canon Brian was appointed as Dean with effect from 1 September after spending many years ministering at St George's, Worcester. As well as Cathedral Dean he is the parish priest of Sacred Heart and St Margaret Mary, Aston. Please support him in prayer as he begins this new chapter in his priestly service.
