Latest News Father Hudson's Caritas receives huge cash injection thanks to the fundraising efforts of Diocesan schools News from Father Hudson's Caritas Father Hudson's Caritas (FHC) together with the Diocesan Education Service (DES) have been working in partnership to engage further with schools, as we look to better inform students of the work we do and give them the opportunity to see Catholic social action in action. During this academic year FHC have had the pleasure of visiting over 160 primary and secondary schools across the Archdiocese, delivering assemblies and presentations and have been so well received. All of our schools have been busy fundraising for FHC with students involved in a wide range of different activities. These have included sponsored rowing to garden parties to sports events to talent shows to bake sales to name just a few. At the DES Conference on Friday 27 June, we were presented with a cheque for £123,098 raised by schools, which will make such a difference to the work we do, and is a wonderful reflection on our schools and their students commitment to support our five themes of work: Homelessness, Older People, Disability, Refugees & Migrants and Families & Children. We understand that there is still more to come. A huge thank you to everyone involved. This donation will: Continue to support refugees and asylum seekers: Fund 1,700 weekly shops at the Brushstrokes refugee and migrant project. Continue to show care for the homeless: Fund six beds at Tabor Living for the whole year. The right of all people to have food to eat: Fund all hot meals at the FHC Community Kitchen for a year.
