Latest News "I never tire of volunteering, being available for people" The latest episode of the All Kinds of Catholic podcast is out today (Wednesday) and features parishioner Sue Nightingale of St Thomas More, Sheldon. Sue (pictured) is interviewed by Theresa Alessandro, podcast creator and host of All Kinds of Catholic. She shares her passion for and experience of volunteering, including her work for the charity Mary's Meals, her assistance at Lourdes Pilgrimages and the work she does in the parish including running a youth group, liturgy group, women's retreat and SEND Masses. Sue's volunteering has taken her to Kenya and India amongst other places...'I get so much out of volunteering'. "I have been called to do this," said Sue. "I never tire of volunteering, being available for people." Sue also talks about being a nurse for over 40 years - a vocation she treasured - and how you can re-learn your faith through your children, "...my faith has got stronger over the years." And when in times of struggle? "I turn to Mary to help me through difficult times and say the Rosary daily." All Kinds of Catholic was launched in 2024 and features a new conversation with a different Catholic guest every Wednesday. The dialogue focusses on how each person is living their faith in the world today. "As you'll hear me say in the episode, Sue was a breath of fresh air to talk to," said Theresa. "I found her energy for service, her devotion to Our Lady, and her willingness to give of herself, deeply inspiring. “We talked about Sue's years of dedication to supporting Mary's Meals - and what drove her to seek the organisation out in the first place. In practical, positive ways, she speaks about her faith and struggling with the strong emotions her voluntary work, and her life, sometimes bring up. I encourage everyone to listen in to this conversation and be inspired too." Listen now to Episode 74: I love God. I love Mary. And I love the opportunities that I’ve been given.
