St Patrick's in Coventry has kickstarted its virtual pilgrimage as part of its Jubilee Year celebrations.

People are invited to walk just one mile and it will be added to the 500-mile French route of the Camino.

On Sunday 27 April Fr George Bennett and his dog, Kali, together with parishioners, walked the first mile from the church to St Brigid’s Convent on Stoneywood Road, followed by refreshments.

"We clocked 22 miles on Sunday and two were from people outside our parish who informed me by email," said Sr Frances. "Fr George led the walk with his dog, Kali.

"Both of our primary schools will also be walking this week. We are asking each individual to do what they can and register it." 

The virtual pilgrimage to Compostela will conclude on Sunday 6 July with a celebratory Mass.

Anyone interested in supporting this effort is asked to complete just one mile and then report it to the parish at [email protected]

A pilgrimage map will be updated with every mile walked.
