Latest News Kidderminster welcomes four new members to the Catholic Men's Society (CMS) By Ray Barb Canon Douglas Lamb recently initiated four new members at a Mass held at St Ambrose Church in Kidderminster. The Catholic Men’s Society (CMS) was founded in May 1854 and is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It’s purpose is to encourage, help and prepare men to become active and responsible Christians in the church today. During the initiation Mass, the new members agreed to abide by the CMS constitution and agreed to be an active member of the Society. They will also attend monthly meetings where various topics are discussed and how the group progresses. The subject for this year will be the Beatitudes. The CMS fundraises in several ways and for different things. This Saturday, 20 June the group is hosting a BBQ to raise funds for the maintenance of St Ambrose Church. Plus other fundraising events take place for the CMS-sponsored Charity Let the Children Live! Kidderminster Branch has 14 members and is the only working branch in the Archdiocese.
