Of your charity, please pray for the Repose of the Soul of Father Brendan Joseph Carrick, Retired Priest of the Archdiocese, who died on Wednesday 17 July 2024, at the age of 80.

Fr Brendan was ordained on 15th March 1970 and served in Willenhall, Boldmere and Wolverhampton, being appointed dean of Wolverhampton in 2005. Although he retired as a parish priest in 2015 he continued to assist with chaplaincy at HMP Featherstone until 2020.

We pray for Fr Brendan’s family, his friends, his former parishioners and all who mourn him. 

May he Rest in Peace.

Funeral Arrangements

Fr Brendan’s body will be received into St Michael’s Church, 173, Coalway Road, Penn, WV3 7ND at 7pm on Thursday 1 August, followed by the celebration of Mass.

His Requiem Mass will take place at 12noon on Friday 2 August. Archbishop Bernard Longley will preside.

The burial will take place at Fr Brendan’s hometown of Wigton. His body will be received into St Cuthbert's Church, King Street, Wigton, CA7 9HU, on Sunday 4 August at 5pm.

Holy Mass will be celebrated for Fr Brendan on Monday 5 August at 11am, followed by burial in Wigton Cemetery.
