Please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr David Keniry, a priest of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, living in retirement, who died on Tuesday 9 December 2025. 

Following his ordination on 13th March 1965, Fr David served as a priest at St Teresa’s - Perry Barr, St Peter’s - Gloucester, Cotton College, St Michael’s - Wolverhampton, and Christ the King - Coventry. He was Parish Priest at St Philip’s - Ilmington, at Chasetown, Burntwood, at St Peter Apostle - Leamington Spa and St Mary’s - Brewood. He also founded and served at the Ark of the Covenant in Coventry. 

We pray for his family, friends, carers, and former parishioners who now mourn him. May he rest in peace. 

Funeral Arrangements

The reception of Fr David’s body will be at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cannock Road, Burntwood, on Tuesday 13 January 2026 at 6pm, followed by the celebration of Holy Mass.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 14 January 2026 at 12noon, Archbishop Bernard Longley will preside.

The burial will take place at 3.30pm at St Charles Borromeo, Hampton on the Hill, Warwick.
