Please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr Joseph Narikuzhi, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, who died on Saturday 21 February 2026.

Fr Joseph was ordained to the priesthood on 28 October 1969 for the Archdiocese of Raipur, and having spent 28 years in ministry in India, he worked in Kent before arriving in the Archdiocese of Birmingham in 2000.

He served the parishes of St Dunstan, Kings Heath; St Chad, Sedgley; St George’s, Worcester; Our Lady & St Thomas, Sheffield; St Austin, Stafford and St Augustine, Solihull, with a particular care for the Keralan communities. Wishing to dedicate his Service to the Archdiocese he requested incardination in 2007 and was duly welcomed.

We pray for his family, friends, carers, and former parishioners who now mourn him. May he rest in peace. 

Funeral Arrangements

The reception of Fr Joseph’s body will be at St Augustine of England RC Church, Station Road, Solihull, on Tuesday 24 March at 7pm, followed by Holy Mass.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 25 March at 12noon, Bishop David Evans will preside.

Following the funeral there will be a reception in the Parish Hall.

Fr Joseph’s body will be repatriated to his home in India.
