Latest News Pilgrims of Hope: St Gregory’s Jubilee Walk Unites Stratford Churches Children from St Gregory's Catholic Primary School and parishioners from St Gregory's Catholic Church have taken a Jubilee Walk through the town visiting other churches in Stratford-upon-Avon as part of their celebrations for the Jubilee theme "Pilgrims of Hope". The walk started at St Gregory’s Church at 1pm on Saturday 13 September led by children from St Gregory's Catholic Primary School. The route taken was St Gregory’s to the Baptist Church in Payton Street, then through the streets to the United Reform Church in Rother Street, then through the town to the Swan Fountain on Waterside, through the Swan Gardens to the Methodist Church in Old Town and finishing across the road at Holy Trinity Church at 3pm. Since January 2025, pupils at St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School have been exploring the Jubilee themes. They placed great importance on collaborating with the parish to undertake this meaningful pilgrimage. The six Jubilee themes are: Care for Creation, Food Poverty, Modern Slavery, Managing Debt, Forgiveness and Rest and Community Action. The date of the walk fell within the Season of Creation celebrated by all Christians between 1 September and 4 October the Feast of St Francis. Pupils shared reflections on the Season of Creation and brought us together in prayer. At each church a short overview was given by the relevant Church host followed by a short reading from the bible, prayer and reflection from the six Jubilee themes which were led by pupils at St. Gregory's Primary School During the walk leaflets were handed out to those interested, as well as prayer cards with the Jubilee Official Prayer as a keepsake. Despite the weather forecast the showers held off during the walk and at the end was followed by tea and coffee at the Methodist Church. Fr Oliver Holt OSB expressed heartfelt thanks to all who participated.
