Latest News The Kenelm Youth Trust (KYT) would like to thank you News from the Kenelm Youth Trust (KYT) On Saturday 15 March, the Kenelm Youth Trust accompanied over 500 young people and their leaders from the Archdiocese of Birmingham to the Wembley OVO Arena. The Kenelm Youth Trust brought the third largest group to Flame where they joined 10,800 other young Catholics for the CYMFed Flame 2025 Conference. UNSTOPPABLE - FAN THE FLAME OF HOPE was the theme of the conference with the guiding Scripture, ‘Fan into a flame the gifts of God’ (2 Tim 1:6), underpinning it. The conference began with Pope Francis’ message read by Bishop David Oakley - “Fan a flame of hope that is truly 'unstoppable' for Christ himself is its living source.” Flame gave young people from across England and Wales an opportunity to encounter Jesus. They praised the Lord through music, experienced Christ in adoration & prayer and were utterly inspired by the array of speakers and Catholic organisations that brought Catholic Social Teaching to life. 79% of young people from our Archdiocese said they feel closer to God after Flame. The majority of young people said that they were encouraged to make a commitment to their faith by praying daily; reading their Bible; taking social action; keeping in touch with friends who share their faith and attending more Kenelm Youth Trust events. The young people of the Archdiocese of Birmingham were visibly uplifted in faith, in awe of the pure joy that they could experience in the Catholic Church - it was a beautiful moment for all to witness. With renewed joy and enthusiasm our young people left the conference with a new zeal for parish life and their role within the Church. The message of the Gospel drew us all together in the love of Christ and our universal faith. A record 93% of young people from our Archdiocese said they had a positive experience of faith at Flame. A huge thank you to our private donors and Jesuits in Britain for sponsoring our t-shirts, as it united our group and proudly represented our Archdiocese. Thank you all for the support in making this opportunity one to remember. Discover KYT Manage Cookie Preferences
