Last summer (2024) pupils, staff and friends of St Alban’s Catholic Primary School in Kings Heath, Birmingham, had launched a fundraising mission.

They needed to raise £80,000 to provide seven-year-old Vinnie with a safe and accessible downstairs classroom that met his unique needs and would enable him to live the most normal life he can.

Today, Friday 18 July, the school is opening the new classroom after a fantastic £88,000 was raised.

The year-long campaign has resulted in a beautiful 64m² classroom, along with a dedicated WC and a calming Sensory Room to ensure Vinnie and his classmates have the space they need to thrive.

The classroom will be in full use from September.
