Prayer for the Dying

Go fourth, Christian soul, from this world
in the name of God the almighty Father,
who created you,
in the name of Jesus Christ,
Son of the living God,
who suffered for you,
in the name of the Holy Spirit,
who was poured out upon you,
go forth, faithful Christian.
May you live in peace this day,
may your home be with God,
with Mary, the virgin Mother of God,
with Joseph, and all the angels and saints.
Amen

Community Formation Project

One of the partnerships which the Centre for the Art of Dying Well has established is with the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) to train their members to become end of life companions for hospital, hospice, care home and parish settings (and there is an associated practitioners conference, evaluation and academic papers which sit alongside the training programme).

Do you feel called to reach out to people in need in your community?
For nearly two centuries the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) has been seeking and finding those in need and responding in love. Today, the SVP in England and Wales represents almost 10,000 members across around 1,000 groups. It is rare for one corner of the SVP to encounter a need which has not also been seen and responded to by our members.
