Lucy Dennis, St Mary of the Angels

Lucy kindly completed a short, optional questionnaire designed to find out more about why people have decided to join the Catholic Church. She will be fully welcomed into the Catholic Church this Easter, 2026.
 
Please tell us a little about what drew you towards wanting to become a Catholic.

I am a foster carer, an adoptive mum and a mum. I have four daughters, and I have recently become a Catholic.

Please tell us something you have learned during your period of formation to become a Catholic.

I have learnt so much… but I have learnt to pray to God and thank him. I always prayed to ask him for things, ask for forgiveness, for luck, for help… but rarely prayed to thank him. I have learnt to feel grateful of my faith and God.

Please tell us something you are looking forward to, following your reception into the Catholic Church.

Getting to spend time with the lovely community I have met whilst becoming a Catholic, and learning more and more about the faith. I also look forward to teaching my children about the faith and involving them where I can.
