Living as a Catholic Become a Catholic ‘After just one Mass experience I knew I was in the right place’ Calum Abbott, St John Fisher Calum kindly completed a short, optional questionnaire designed to find out more about why people have decided to join the Catholic Church. He will be fully welcomed into the Catholic Church this Easter, 2026. Please tell us a little about what drew you towards wanting to become a Catholic. I spent a good amount of time learning about Christianity and when I finally decided to take the leap into faith, I spent some time trying to understand which denomination felt right. The tradition and history and beauty of the Catholic Church felt authentic to me, and after just one Mass experience I knew I was in the right place. Please tell us something you have learned during your period of formation to become a Catholic. Two important things that I have learnt are, firstly, we are all called to be Saints in our everyday lives. Secondly, it’s important for me to be salt and light. Please tell us something you are looking forward to, following your reception into the Catholic Church. I’m looking forward to being forgiven of sin through baptism and then bringing my family into the church. Manage Cookie Preferences
