Living as a Catholic Become a Catholic ‘I began to read the bible and go to church, and it completely changed my life and who I am as a person’ Max KendrickSt Gregory the Great, Stratford-upon-Avon Max kindly completed a short, optional questionnaire designed to find out more about why people have decided to join the Catholic Church. He will be fully welcomed into the Catholic Church this Easter, 2026. Please tell us a little about what drew you towards wanting to become a Catholic. I lived most of my life an atheist. Didn’t come from a religious background at all. I always felt like something was missing. I inexplicably began having small signs in my life which I believed was something more. I began to read the bible and go to church, and it completely changed my life and who I am as a person. I wanted the traditional church, which followed the old traditions instituted by Christ himself and the early church which I felt most other churches/dominations are missing, I believe these traditions are important for authentic and genuine worship. This is why chose to become Catholic. Please tell us something you have learned during your period of formation to become a Catholic. I have learned how greatly important the church sacraments are when we attend Mass. These sacraments serve as the greatest path to receiving Christ. The bread and the wine literally become the body and blood of Jesus. Please tell us something you are looking forward to, following your reception into the Catholic Church. I am greatly looking forward to being able to receive the all the sacraments. To serve a greater role within my local church community as Christ calls us too. Manage Cookie Preferences
