Sophia Brown

Sophia kindly completed a short, optional questionnaire designed to find out more about why people have decided to join the Catholic Church. She will be fully welcomed into the Catholic Church this Easter, 2026.

Please tell us a little about what drew you towards wanting to become a Catholic.

I really like the communal aspect of the Church and how the same teachings and messages are taught throughout the world. I appreciate the dedication the Church has in comparison to other denominations and the reverence towards Holy Communion. My maternal grandmother who died four years ago was a convert as is my mum and my grandmother in particular was a good role model in how she lived her life and how she treated others and didn't say a bad word about anyone (even if there was potentially cause to do so).

Please tell us something you have learned during your period of formation to become a Catholic.

I have learned a lot about the faith in general from my RCIA sessions, including Marian dogmas, the Sacraments and about the early Church and delving deeper in to the Our Father prayer.

Please tell us something you are looking forward to, following your reception into the Catholic Church.

I am looking forward to joining a wide global family of Christians and to partake in Holy Communion.
