Spaces are limited, particularly when the Cathedral is hosting large events. There are also a number of car parks in the area, including one opposite the Cathedral. It is good to note that the car park and the Cathedral are on separate levels. Access from the car park to the main doors of the Cathedral is by steps or by exiting the car park on foot, turning left and following Cathedral House building up the hill and around to the main Cathedral doors. The car park can be found on Shadwell Street, B4 6EY. The car park gates are closed outside of Mass times. Please do not park at the Cathedral for any reason other than attendance at Archbishop’s House, Cathedral House or at the Cathedral and Cathedral shop without prior arrangement. The nearest train and tram station to St Chad’s Cathedral is Snow Hill Station which is approximately five minutes walk. If arriving at New Street Station, it is a good 20 minute walk to St Chad’s Cathedral. Alternative means of travel are the tram which stops outside New Street Station and St Chad’s Snow Hill or taxi. From Digbeth Coach Station, it is approximately 30 minutes walk to St Chad’s Cathedral. You should consider taking a taxi for this journey. Access to the Cathedral is via up-hill pedestrian pathway around the perimeter of Cathedral House to the main Cathedral doors. Alternatively, drop off is available on the main St Chad’s Queensway bays outside the main Cathedral doors. Cathedral Shops St Paul's Bookshop Stocks a wide range of books, cards, CDs, religious articles and church requisites. It is run by the Society of St Paul. St Chad's Cathedral Giftshop Provides gifts for children to buy when they come to the Cathedral on school visits. It is situated in the Crypt where the children eat their lunch. All items are inexpensive and specially selected to be of interest to children. They include souvenirs of the Cathedral, piety items and seasonal gifts for Christmas, Mother’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Easter. We are very grateful to the schools for your support of this venture.
