Prayer to St Chad

St Chad,
Patron of our School
of our Cathedral
and of our Diocese;
we honour you
a Bishop and Shepherd of your people.
 
Nurtured in a family of faith, in the north of England. with your brothers who all became priests,
and taught by St Aidan, missionary and monk of Lindisfarne.
 
As Bishop of Lichfield,
you travelled far and wide,
proclaiming the Good News,
and caring for your flock.
 
Bless our school community,
bless all of our families
and our neighbourhood of Newtown
 
As you have guided God’s Holy people throughout the ages
so give us your guidance
that we may imitate Jesus
in all we say and do,
and so become the Lord’s missionary disciples today.
